Epiphone Coronet '66, Walnut, Exclusive

Everything you need to rock, with nothing extra to get in your way

The Epiphone Coronet was first introduced in 1958 and is one of Epiphone’s first and most successful original solidbody electric guitar designs. Stripped down to the essentials, it has everything you need to rock, with nothing extra to get in your way. While the Coronet, like its cousin, the Les Paul™ Junior, is about as basic as an electric guitar can get, that outward simplicity disguises the wide range of tonal options available from its single pickup. By varying where you place the picking hand, as well as the settings on the master volume and tone knobs, you can coax a surprisingly wide range of different, and very cool, tones out of a Coronet.

The new Coronet features a solid, center-seamed, two-piece asymmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body that provides outstanding access to the entire length of the fretboard. The glued-in mahogany neck has a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper™ C profile and is topped with a rosewood fretboard with a 12” radius for equally easy string bends and chording, 22 medium jumbo frets, and simple acrylic dot inlays. The iconic Epiphone six-on-a-side Batwing headstock is outfitted with a Graph Tech® nut and smooth-turning six-on-a-plate ivory button tuners, ensuring excellent tuning stability.

The Coronet is equipped with a compensated Lightning Bar wraparound bridge/tailpiece that bolts directly into the mahogany body, resulting in exceptional resonance, sustain, and tonal transfer. The white 3-ply butterfly pickguard features the Epiphone foil E logo in the center. The Coronet is powered by a single Epiphone PRO™ Dogear P-90 pickup with a nickel-silver cover, delivering everything from clean, crisp jangle to thick, rich overdrive. The P-90 pickup is paired with master volume and tone controls that use high-quality CTS® potentiometers for consistent, reliable performance. They are topped with historic 60s radio knobs with nickel reflectors, which further add to the cool, vintage-inspired aesthetic. The Epiphone Coronet comes with an Epiphone premium gig bag for protection and portability, and delivers vintage vibe, modern reliability, and unmistakable character, and is your ticket to timeless tone.
