A Diverse Range of Tonal Colors in a New ES-355 Custom Artist Model
Shinichi Ubukata is a highly respected Japanese guitarist and songwriter. His career began in 1998 as the guitarist for Ellegarden, who released five albums and several EPs and maxi-singles. When Ellegarden went on hiatus in 2008, Shinichi Ubukata formed Nothing’s Carved In Stone and has released 11 albums so far. In 2018, Ellegarden reunited and continues to work while releasing its sixth album in 2022.
In 2017 Ubukata released his first Gibson signature ES-355, which were sold out immediately in Japan. He requested several unique features for his new Epiphone ES-355 Custom signature model to complement the standard ES-355 Custom cosmetics, including bound diamond-shaped f-holes, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, Gibson ’57 Classic™ pickups, a Bigsby® B70 vibrato, a mono Varitone switch, and his own “skull” logo on the back of the headstock. This exciting new artist model delivers a diverse range of tonal colors in a stylish package. An Epiphone hardshell case with the artist’s “skull” logo is also included.
