Legend has it that the famous TV Yellow finish of the Les Paul™ Special was named for its vivid appearance on black & white televisions in the 1950s. That's debatable. What's not up for debate is the indelible imprint this model had on music history since its inception. For decades now, the classy looks and thick, meaty tones of the Les Paul Special have been preferred by players of all genres.

This 1957 Les Paul Special comes from the personal collection of Gibson President and CEO Cesar Gueikian. Cesar purchased the guitar from Gibson’s current Director of Brand Experience, Mark Agnesi, during Mark’s time at Norman’s Rare Guitars. Cesar sought out the instrument after seeing it on one of Mark’s famous “Guitar of the Day” videos.

This fine ‘57 is in excellent overall condition and, of course, has the original, iconic TV Yellow finish. It is all original except for a re-fret and a new nut, though the original nut is also included. There is some light playwear, including small surface scratches and lacquer checking throughout, that provide a visual accompaniment to its nearly 70-year sonic history. It ships with a brown Lifton™ 5-Latch Reissue hardshell case.
