Gibson Certified Vintage 1967 Gibson Melody Maker D, Pelham Blue

1967 Gibson Melody Maker D, Serial Number 002977

Introduced in 1959 as an affordable, entry-level instrument, the Gibson Melody Maker™ quickly gained a following among players who appreciated its lightweight design, single-coil pickups, and straightforward controls. By 1967, the Melody Maker D had evolved to include a dual-pickup configuration and a short Maestro™ Vibrola™, making it a versatile choice for rock and blues players.

This beautiful 1967 Gibson Melody Maker D is an incredibly well-worn but well-loved example, finished in a fantastically aged Pelham Blue. The guitar shows extensive checking and playwear, with some cracks and missing corners on the pickguard. The neck has been expertly planed and re-fretted with medium jumbo fret wire and a new bone nut added, ensuring excellent playability. The original plastic strap buttons have been replaced with metal ones for improved security. It retains its original Melody Maker single-coil pickups, Kluson® Deluxe tuners, and Lightning Bar wraparound bridge, delivering the raw, beefy tone that has made this model an unsung favorite among players for decades.

Ships in a Lifton™ Historic Black/Goldenrod hardshell case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity, Letter of Appraisal, and new Limited Lifetime Warranty.
