Gibson Custom Les Paul Axcess Standard with Stop Bar, VOS, Lemon Burst

Vintage Vibes on a Les Paul Axcess Standard

This Gibson Custom Select Les Paul™ Axcess Standard has the aesthetics of a 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue with player-focused features from an Axcess Standard. These features include an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stop Bar tailpiece, Les Paul Axcess contoured heel neck joint, and a Lemon Burst finish. Gibson Custom Select guitars have handpicked features from Gibson’s experts and are made in small batches in Nashville, Tennessee, setting them apart from standard production guitars. While these guitars are based on production models, they can include special features such as unique finishes, custom hardware, and electronics not available on the production model counterparts.

The Les Paul Axcess Standard is designed for the modern player while still retaining the heritage of the Les Paul Standard models from Gibson’s iconic catalog. Aesthetic changes on this Les Paul Axcess Standard include a Lemon Burst finish over a AAA flame maple top with a Cherry-finished single-piece mahogany back. The guitar is also given the VOS treatment, with slightly aged hardware and two coats of antique lacquer, giving the finish an aged aesthetic. Further inspiration from a ’59 Les Paul Standard includes an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stop Bar tailpiece, replacing the Floyd Rose® tremolo system that is fitted to the standard production model. Cream plastics on the pickup mounting rings and output jack plate replace the stock black plastics to match the aesthetic of a 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue.

Unchanged specifications on this Les Paul Axcess Standard feature the neck profile and contoured heel joint, traditional weight relief, and the pickup configuration. The neck profile is the Les Paul Axcess profile, which is based on the Authentic 1959 neck profile that is known and loved by many players. The contoured neck heel replaces the traditional hump found on vintage reissue models. This contour allows for easier access to the upper frets, which is one of the most modern features of the Les Paul Axcess Standard. The reinforced Apex headstock is an evolution from the vintage design, further improving stability around the headstock. The headstock angle is changed from the vintage 17-degree headstock angle to 14 degrees to accommodate the Apex headstock carve. The body is weight-relieved with a 9-hole weight relief pattern known as Traditional Weight Relief. This makes the guitar even easier to maneuver when playing, while still retaining the sound of a traditional Les Paul. The standard set of Gibson 498T and 490R humbucker™ pickups comes loaded into this guitar, adding to the modern touches on a model with vintage aesthetics.

This guitar is designed to keep up with modern players while offering vintage aesthetics so closely related to the Les Paul Standard. From the Lemon Burst finish to the ABR-1 bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, this guitar brings vintage vibe to the modern player craving something more. Included with the guitar is a hardshell case with a Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity.
